Stepping it up, Aang.

Am I the only one who thinks Aang would use this on Katara for dirty purposes.

He must have tortured his family with this every chance he got.

Poor Katara.

so does anyone else think his “we just ran numbers for them and stuff” line was total BS

or maybe bolin was the one running numbers while mako did the “and stuff”, who knows

i was also kind of absently wondering if mako has ever killed someone before

I did what I had to do to survive and protect my little brother.”

I agree that there’s more to the story than what Mako let’s on and I could see him doing the “and stuff” while Bolin runs the numbers in order to protect him.

But I also wonder about his story with his parents. How did he make it out alive and also where is Bolin in this part of the story? I don’t know where he’d be if he wasn’t with his brother and his parents. Could it be that Bolin was there too the night of their parents’ deaths, but pushed back into the shadows while this happened? Or just… I really want to know the full story for these two.

There’s so much we don’t know.

reblogging for this.

Honestly, I have SO many questions about Mako and Bolin’s past and their parents. Why was Mako’s relationship with his father significant (given that he values the scarf so much)? What does Bolin remember of his parents, only being 6 years old at the time of their deaths? Why was only Mako with their parents when they were being mugged/killed, and where was Bolin? What did Mako do immediately after his parents were killed, and why didn’t the mugger kill him too? How did they fall in with the Triads, and how old were they? What did Mako really do for them (especially interesting to think about given that Bolin told Shady Shin in e3 that ‘Mako told me to stay away from the Triads’), and why/how did they break away from them? How did Mako ‘miss out on his childhood’? In what ways did Mako ‘shield’ Bolin from the realities of the world? Does Mako harbor any sort of guilt for the deaths of his parents, and do they still affect him now?

Ugh, I have even more questions that that, but I won’t go on. I really, REALLY hope that their parents/past are addressed significantly at least once in the next five episodes, and that it will be further addressed in Book 2.

Also, I have the suspicion that their parents were both nonbenders, given Mako and Bolin’s attitudes toward nonbenders (Asami, pro-bending, etc) and that they seemed to have been helpless against being mugged and murdered by a Firebender.
